Court denies bail in rape of 70 years old

JAMMU: 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Kishore Kumar Saturday rejected the bail application of one Raj Singh s/o Raghnath Singh r/o Akhnoor who was arrested by the police in a rape case with a 70 years old woman.
On 09.01.2015 at 8:00 am in the morning while the prosecutrix ( 70 years old woman) had gone out in the field to attend nature’s call, in the meanwhile accused came there, and caught hold of the prosecutrix, forcibly made her to lie on the ground and committed rape on her, against his will. Upon a complaint an FIR NO. 07/2015 for offences under sections 376,323 RPC was registered against the accused and after investigation of the case, offences punishable under sections 376, 323 RPC were made out against the accused and challan presented against the accused.
3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Kishore Kumar after hearing Advocate T.R. Wani for the accused whereas APP Sarwesh Gupta for the state observed that offences allegedly committed by the accused warrants the punishment of life and serious in nature, it is considered to be a menace and threat to the society as a whole. “The accused person, resorted to such activities which demean the psychology development of a woman and “The crime of rape is not only a crime against a person/or woman which it is a crime against the whole society. With these observations Court rejected the bail application.
