Court convicts accused in unnatural offence case, awards 2-yr imprisonment

KATHUA: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kathua, Sandeep Kour on Friday convicted an accused for two years simple imprisonment and fine to the tune of Rs. 3000 in case of unnatural offence.
The accused identified as Gaurav Sharma, son of Dalip Kumar, resident of village Gugran, Tehsil and District Pathankot was convicted in FIR No.13/2013 registered under Section 377 of RPC at Police Station Kathua. APP Bachan Lal appeared for UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
The brief facts of the case are that complainant Sahdev Singh filed an application at Police Station Kathua alleging that accused Gourav Sharma on January 14, 2013 has repeatedly conducted unnatural sex with his eight-year-old son (name withheld).
On complaint, an FIR was lodged and ultimately on Friday court has convicted the accused.
