Court awards life-term for murder

JAMMU: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kikar Singh Parihar awarded life-imprisonment to Mohinder Singh @ Raju who was involved in much publicized murder at Katra.
According to the police case that on May 1, 2011 the deceased Bachan Singh accompanied by his maternal uncle Swarn Singh lodged a verbal report in an injured condition in Police post Banganga to this effect that he is an employee of a dry fruit shop belonging to Snaju situated at PP Market Katra and Mohinder Singh who is also working in PP Market and is inimical towards him and on that day deceased after taking dinner, was sitting at the shop of one Sham Lal, the Mohinder singh came to that shop and with an intention to kill the deceased stabbed him with a knife in his stomach. Police registered a case u/s 307 RPC, later on deceased was succumbed to injuries, 302 was added.
Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kikar Singh Parihar after hearing both the sides awarded life imprisonment to Mohinder Singh and fine Rs 5,000 to and sent the accused to Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal.
