UDHAMPUR: A meeting of Congress activists was held under the presidentship of Senior Congress leader and INTUC State Secretary Sumeet Magotra. In the meeting Congress activists criticised Union Government led by Bhartiya Janta Party for defaming Congress President Sonia Gandhi in a controversial Agusta Westland Chopper deal.
While addressing the meeting Sumeet Magotra said that Prime Minister Nariender Modi is playing a dirty politics by indulging Sonia Gandhi in chopper deal. He said that Union Government is trying to divert the attention of the people on misrule of the BJP Government. Magotra disclosed that several leaders of BJP itself have criticised Modi on his dictatorial attitude those includes Lal Krishan Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shatrughan Sinha, Journalist Arun Shouri and leading lawyer Ram Jethmalani who also expressed that Nariender Modi is danger for the democracy in the country.
Sumeet Magotra challenged Union Government that if they have guts to set up a commission against Union Ministers especially against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for publishing their assets, bank balance and property before and after assigned ministerial birth in the Union Government. He disclosed that a survey of an independent body has claimed that the property assets including bank balance of Union Minster Arun Jaitley have increase about 70 per cent after becoming the Union Minister. Magotra said that our foreign policy has collapsed even after Prime Minister’s frequent foreign tours, Union Government failed to deal with Pakistan strongly after Pathankot attack and heavy firing on borders by the Pakistan. Magotra claimed that the Coalition with PDP – BJP is like the marriage of convenience which will break very soon adding that in the present turmoil of Indian politics it is to save the integration of country and the democracy. He asked the workers to get ready for a big agitation against State and Union Government for anti people policies. Shivam Sharma, Jeevan Sharma, Asif, Sham Lal, Ramesh Kumar, Raj Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, Sudesh Kumar, Suriender Sharma, Vikram and Girdhari Lal also addressed the meeting.
