The Bold Voice of J&K

Corrupt practices of ministers and police officers

0 105

Dear Editor,
A daring & bold News Paper published from Jammu, coming up with daily sops with sensational reporting targeted towards exposing the politicians and bureaucrats. Most disturbing were news published in its November 21, 2016, under heading “Demonetisation: ‘Crorepati’ police officer in soup” and another disclosure captioned “BJP minister takes Rs.13 cr, car, flat as bribe from party MLC” published in November 22, 2016 editions. If at all we have to believe it, it is the mirror being shown to the PM’s efforts to curb black money and corruption by its own BJP ministers and administration of the same believed, owing to reasons that India is ranked at S. No 76 out of 168 corrupt countries, J&K is second in corruption on the national index and police is among top five departments of the state, which are most corrupt. The more alarming currents are let loose by the government, when no action or any enquiry is initiated or even a rebuttal is issued by the government or concerned department, cementing the belief that “Is Hamam Mein Sb Nange Hain”. Here the role of vigilance also attracts doubt as it is not exercising its options to initiate open enquiries or even secret enquiries taking this news reporting as source of information, which has remained a past practice in the department. I believe the expose is based on real facts as a maligning reporting can attract criminal proceedings against it and criminal silence of the concerned has compelled us to believe its admittance by them, although they may be happy only on the misbelieve that their names have not been exposed. Through the column of your esteemed paper as apostle of fourth pillar of democracy, we request expect an enquiry by a daring department to expose such element in the government and police department as to arrive at a conclusion, keeping in view that fourth pillar of democracy has performed its duty and now the ball is in the court of those responsible to come up to the expectations of people or to shield such element.
