JAMMU: JMC Contractor Association lambasted the pick and choose policy of Sadar Treasury Officers in clearing the pending dues of the contractors.
Led by President Jahangir Ahmed Butt, the contractors assembled in front of Sadar Treasury Office Townhall and raised slogans against the government for not showing its concern over the problems faced by the contractors.
The association president Jahangir Ahmed Butt alleged that Sadar Treasury Office has released approximately Rs 4 crore to clear the pending liabilities of contractors but in actual most of the contractors didn’t get money in their accounts.
Butt said, “The treasury officers claimed that the payment of contractors has been cleared upto 31st March, 2015”.
The association members appealed to the Finance Minister to look into the matter otherwise they will left with no other option but to come on roads.
Others who joined the protest included Imran Salaria, Raju Salaria, Anil Datta, Bodhraj, Raju Khajuria, Rakesh Kumar, Mantu, Irfan, Aman Sharma, Zafar, Sushant, Ramesh Chander and Bakshi, Sunil.
