CHATROO/BUNJWAH: Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed gratitude to the people of Inderwal for reposing faith in him for the third time.
Saroori vowed to keep up his commitment to continue the development and to meet their expectations with best of his capabilities. “As I have already made a commitment with the people of the area that I won’t let them down ever, I not only stand by my pledge but reiterate the same after having got the people’s mandate again for the third time and meet the great challenges ahead,” Saroori said while addressing a grand reception organised by the people of Patshalla, Noor, Kewa, Jalapur, Binoon, Nali, Patnazi, Kuriya, Mugalmaidan, Kuchal, Chatroo and Sigdi areas to felicitate him on his victory in the Assembly polls.
Saroori complimented Congress cadre for having successfully and effectively carried the party’s political and economic agenda to the grassroots level. “It is because of the untiring and selfless efforts of the Congress cadre that his party has today become a real people’s movement across Inderwal,” he said and added that he would also like to express his gratitude to those also who couldn’t vote in this election for various reasons.
“With all humility and sense of gratitude, I dedicate my victory to the people of Inderwal, who have reposed their faith and trust in me, not only now but from 1996 the day in which I entered into politics”, Saroori told a huge gatherings here after enthusiastic people took him in a procession amid beating of drums, sloganeering and dancing.
Saroori described his victory as a defining moment for development of the constituency, which he said, is a collective mission of the people of the area, irrespective of caste, creed or political affiliation.
“Together, we shall march towards the destination we have prioritised for ourselves”, he told the cheering crowds, adding that with elections over, the attention should now focus on picking up the threads of development.
Saroori said that Congress will continue to work for the uplift of the people besides progress and prosperity of the State in whatever role it is destined to play.
