JAMMU: Criticising the attitude of the State and Central Governments over the issue of AIIMS for Jammu, Senior Vice President PCC, Sham Lal Sharma decided to support the proposed torch light protest by AIIMS Coordination Committee (CC) and join the protest march in order to intensify the agitation as announced by the coordination committee.
A meeting of Senior Congress leaders was held here on Thursday under Sham Lal to take stock of the situation over the issues pertaining to AIIMS, artificial lake project and neglect of farmers in Jammu region.
The senior Congress leaders lashed out the Central and State Governments over the anti farmer policies adopted in J and K, and accused the same of being insensitive to the plight of farmers who suffered immense loss in the incessant rains and flood. They said that the government is rubbing salt to their injuries by offering peanuts as compensation to them.
