Congress should ponder its omissions, commissions: BJP
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Dismissing the self claim of State President Congress, G.M Mir, that Congress is the only unifying force in the country, BJP State Spokespersons, Prof. Virender Gupta and Balbir Ram Rattan, said the Congress is basically the party that divided the country on the basis of religion, caste and creed for the sake of political gains and added that it has become an instrument to weaken the social fabric and secular ethos of the Indian nation.
Prof. Virender and Balbir said that India fought a united struggle against the British slavery, but after independence, it was Congress which mostly ruled the country and thus is responsible for dividing the society by playing divisive politics. They questioned the claim of the State Congress President that Congress worked as a bridge between the State and the Centre and stated that in the last more than 12 years and also before 1990, it was sharing power in the State and was governing at the Centre, but this bridge did not help to improve the situation in the Valley, instead the situation worsened day by day.
“The so called sustained dialogue with all stake holders, which the Congress pleads for funding solution to all the problems concerning Jammu and Kashmir was either not held or remained fruitless when the Congress was at the helm of affairs”, the Spokespersons said and added that even the alienation of people of Jammu region from the Valley and vice-versa also increased when Congress was on the saddle of power.
