Congress holds ‘Jan Aakrosh’ rallies against demonetisation

KATHUA: Following the pre-declared call of ‘Jan Aakrosh’ rally the activists of Congress under the leadership of District Congress Committee President Former MLC Subash Gupta staged a protest at Chadwal, on Monday. During this, the movement of vehicles at National Highway was also remained affected for some time.
Subash Gupta while addressing rally said that ‘Aakrosh Rally’ is not against demonetization nevertheless, it is against the harassment faced by people following the Union government’s demonetisation move.
Recalling the elimination of currency notes of Rupees 500 and Rupees 1000 as nightmare for common people he said that the process is not going to result in eradicating black money however, has created lot of problems for the general public.
“As an immediate aftermath of the announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citizens have been confronted with panic and chaos for the most part,” he added.
He further said that the government on its side has tried to calm the situation down by repeatedly clarifying that the honest man’s money will definitely be safeguarded.
However, excruciatingly long queues outside banks and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and the death of several people during these queues is proof to the fact that the calming effect has not reached the masses.
He further said that in this pursuit, many have been seen spending the entire night in queues outside the ATMs. Often times, the effort goes in vain as ATMs run out of money.
But even if the withdrawal is successful, people have started realizing that nobody is willing to take the Rs 2000 note which is more commonly dispensed by the ATMs, for lack of change.
Subash Gupta further said that this act of Modi Ji will have a negative impact on the economy. Transporters are having no money to pay drivers, neither the drivers have money to fill petrol – how will the transportation sector run?
“It will affect the movement of vegetables, people will lose jobs and is going to have a very serious impact on the economy,” he said adding that Congress will fight for the hardships of common man.

Congress workers protest led by former minister and member legislative assembly Banihal Mr Vikar Rasool Wani accused BJP led NDA government on dimonitization issue.
Congress workers took out a protest rally and then came on the National Highway at bus stand Ramban and disrupted the movement of vehicles for about 45 minutes.
They were shouting slogans against BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, protest against Modi Government for its failure to deal with crises erupted after demonetization and corruption by two BJP Ministers in J&K.
Led by former minister and MLA Banihal Mr Vikar Rasool Wani, a large number of Congress workers assembled at dak bungalow at Ramban district and held a protest denomination against modi government
Senior leaders secretary PCC Ashok Kumar and Imtiyaz Ahmed Khanday,DCC President Arun Singh Raju, Farooq Katoch and Rashid Malik and others also spoke on the occasion.
SUNDERBANI: An Akrosh Rally was taken out by the Congress activists at Sunderbsani against the demonetization in which the speakers strongly criticized the Modi Government.
The rally was taken out from Block Congress Committee office which passed through the main market where the speakers strongly criticized the BJP Government.
Youth Congress Assembly President Manik Raina said that Modi Government is playing in the hands of few business tycoons.

KISHTWAR: Congress party in Kishtwar joined the nation-wide protest against demonetisation and demanded an enquiry by a Parliamentary Standing Committee on the black money stashed abroad.
Joining the ‘Akrosh Diwas’ protest against demonetisation on the direction of State Congress Vice President Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Kishtwar Congress leaders asked the centre to enhance the withdrawal limit of cash from ATMs and banks to ease public inconveniences.
Thousands of Congress workers holding placards organised joined the protest from Dak Bungalow to old DC Office Kishtwar and unequivocally denounced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move as “a political move being sold as a fight against corruption”.
Those who addressed the gathering Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Mahidner Singh Parihar, Mohd Iqbal Keen, Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Gulzar Ahmed Mattoo, Bidya Lal Sharma, Satish Kumar, Tariq Wani, Firdous Ahmed Mingnoo, Waseem Maker, Randeep Bhandari, Waseem Sajjad, Chowdhary Israeil and others said that the NDA government’s demonetisation move came at a time when the country was passing through a crucial phase.
