UDHAMPUR: A Dharna was organised by the Former District Youth Congress President and State Secretary of Indian National Trade Union Congress Sumeet Magotra at Salathia Chowk outside District Courts Udhampur in protest of shifting of AIMS from Jammu to Kashmir Division as it was sanctioned by the Government of India for Jammu Division and the suspension of the construction work of artificial lake in Jammu by the present State Government.
A large number of youth activists were present in the Dharna and were raising slogans against State and Union Governments for their act of discrimination with the people of Jammu region. Senior Congress leader Brij Mohan Sharma also participated in the protest of youth workers of the party.
In his address Sumeet Magotra expressed that AIIMS level hospital was sanctioned for the people of Jammu region to provide them best health services but it was shifted to Kashmir region unethically by the Kashmir centric PDP by showing its supremacy (Dadagiri) and it will not be tolerated by the people of whole Jammu region. He criticised BJP, the coalition partner of State Government to keep mum by shutting their eyes over this very sensitive issue.
He expressed that people of Jammu region will not spare the BJP for their irresponsible attitude over this issue and people will teach them a lesson in near future. He said that it is our peaceful protest and if AIIMS level hospital is not opened anywhere in Jammu region then Congress and its associate parties of Jammu region will initiate a big agitation against the BJP and PDP for their dictatorial attitude. Magotra called off Dharna in the evening.
