DODA: Launching a scathing attack on those parties who claim that Congress has become irrelevant in J and K, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister said that he cannot help people who have decided to day-dream and rest in the bliss of self-proclaimed beliefs and notions.
“Some parties are proclaiming to have 44+, others are distributing portfolios, and we are going to the people with our agenda of development, equity and justice. People cannot be taken for granted as it is the people who are the real fountainhead of power, and not the self-proclaiming parties”, said Azad.
Azad said that people of the State are going to outrightly reject all these self-proclaiming and arrogant political parties who are taking people for granted, as they have decided to give a decisive mandate to the Congress Party to return an era of fast-paced growth, infrastructure building and development.
Ghulam Nabi Azad said that those who are trying to write off Congress Party will come to know about the strength and vitality of the Congress Party on the day the results will be declared.
Brimming with confidence on the basis of overwhelming response and enthusiasm of people all across the State going to poll in the first phase, Azad said that he is fully confident that Congress Party will belie the hopes of all the so-called experts, pundits and prophets of doom.
“We never transported crowds from outside in our meetings, but the way people have given me affection right from Ladakh to Gurez to Chenab Valley, Congress Party will emerge victorious in the all the phases of elections ”, said Azad.
Azas was on a campaign trail in various parts of Chenab Valley to wind up the canvassing for the first phase. Accompanied by Mohammad Sharief Niaz MLA, G M Saroori MLA, Ashok Kumar Dogra MLA, Naresh Gupta MLC, Aslam Goni former Advocate General, P R Manhas (IGP retd), he addressed hugely attended public meetings at Thathri, Breswana, Haala, Balihote, Gundoh and Bhalla in Ramban, Doda, Bhadarwah and Inderwal Constituencies to garner support for the candidates of Congress Party.
Azad said that Congress-led Government in a short span of two and half years left an indelible imprint on the political and developmental landscape of the State and made a successful bid to address the aspirations and urges of all regions and sections of the society with fairness, equity and justice.
He said, “We won the hearts and minds of the people in a short span of time by our agenda of development, which the people of State were never exposed to by the exploitative and divisive parties of the State”.
Urging the farsighted and intelligent people of Chenab Valley to defeat the nefarious designs of the divisive and exploitative forces, Azad said that these mischievous elements are trying to divide your strength and sabotage the developmental activities in the Chenab Valley.
Azad said that they are up to destroy the harmony and amity in Chenab Valley which is a microcosm of the composite values and secular traditions.
“Congress is the only hope of Jammu and Kashmir as it has a pan-State presence and promotes a unifying and harmonising agenda”, said Azad.
