SRINAGAR: Strongly condemning the Handwara causalities, Pradesh Congress Committee demanded time bound impartial probe into the incident and punishment to guilty.
Congress delegation led by PCC Chief G.A. Mir was disallowed to visit Handwara. The delegation was supposed to assess the situation and express solidarity with the bereaved families.
Senior Pradesh Congress leaders and office bearers MLC Gulam Nabi Monga, MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dar Vice Presidents MLA and Former Minister Usman Majeed, District President Kupwara Haji Farooq Mir and other senior leaders strongly condemned the Handwara firing incident which has cost many precious lives, Yesterday. Killing of innocent persons, in any form, can’t be justified by anything, they said.
Seeking clarity from the State Government over Handwara casualties, Congress leaders questioned where are the promises made by the present head of the Government claiming to protect innocent people and ensure peaceful atmosphere in the State?
Accusing State Govt for failing to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the State, Congress Leaders asked the Govt to accept the failure, as Handwara incidents has raged the valley again.
Expressing anguish Congress leaders described the firing on protestors as most unfortunate and said such type of incidents would continue to alienate the people and vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the State.
Congress Leaders demanded time bound impartial probe into this firing incident, so that the truth comes to fore and guilty punished.
Meanwhile, Secretary J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Irfan Naqib condemned the Handwara firing incident. He expressed grief over the loss of precious.
Irfan Naqib while demanding impartial probe of Handwara Tragedy, offered condolences to bereaved family and sympathized with them.
