College teachers call on Edu Min

JAMMU: A delegation of College Teachers Association led by its President, Jammu Wing, Prof. D.S Manhas on Wednesday met Minister for Higher Education, Altaf Bukhari to discuss the problems being faced by the college fraternity.
The association apprised the minister that the decisions taken in the meeting held on April 25, 2017, regarding placement of teachers in grade pay of Rs 7,000, 8,000 and 9,000 and carried out of API score from April 2017, have not been implemented since the Department of Higher Education has not issued any formal orders in this regard.
The minister informed that the department is already working on the issue and has sorted out the matter in consultation with the Law Department. He assured the association that formal orders for the same shall be issued at the earliest. The delegation comprised of Dr Anil Ganju, Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dr. Surinder Sharma, Dr. Jagjit Singh, Dr. Revika Arora, Dr. Sanjay Kotwal and Dr Mandeep Singh.
