Cold wave grips whole Chenab Valley; Bhadarwah freezes at minus 7

BHADARWAH: Cold wave gripped whole Chenab valley as Bhadarwah recorded the lowest temperature of -7 degree Celsius of the season adding to the woes of residents.
According to reports, water and drainage system has frozen because of the cold wave while power supply has been disrupted by the snowfall.
Meanwhile, the weatherman has predicted another spell of rain and snowfall in the region.
According to the weather office, another spell of rain and snowfall was expected in Chenab Valley and adjoining Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh on 15th and 16th January forcing authorities at Bhadarwah to issue an advisory to the people to remain indoors.
With this the weatherman has predicted even harsher weather in the next few days as Siberian winds and a western disturbance were expected to bring down the temperatures further.
SDM Bhadarwah Mohd Anwar Bandey said that we are in the middle of exceptionally severe winters as it has peaked with temperature dipping to all time low at minus 7 resulting in frozen water pipes and dangerously slippery roads to manoeuvre on.
SDM added that we have already issued an advisory to the people especially residing on slopes to remain indoors for some time till the intensity of cold wave subsides.
