Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy wins u-12, u-14 titles

JAMMU: Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy defeated Jodhamal Public School by 68 runs and emerged champion in under-12 Col RN Chopra Challenge Cup 2014-15, played at IIIM CSIR Ground, here on Monday.
Batting first, Col RN Chopra Cricket Academy with best batting performance set a target of 169 runs for three wickets in 20 overs. Arya Suvansh Thakur as the main scorer with 40 runs followed by Abhay Tandon and Jugjap Singh who contributed 34 and 23 runs respectively without losing their wickets. Ritwik Sharma also added 16 runs to the total. For Jodhamal, Vanamlin, Harish and Abu shared one wicket each.
In reply, Jodhamal Public School failed to chase the target and made 101 runs with the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Harish scored 24 runs and Dhrub made 14 runs. For Col RN Chopra Cricket Academy, Umar Sadiq clinched two wickets while Sachidanand, Jugjap and Yugan shared one wicket each.
Arya Suvansh Thakur of Col RN Chopra Academy was declared Man of the match while Best Batsman title was won by Arya Suvansh Thakur, Best Bowler by Abhay Tandon, Best Fielder by Abu Bakar and Man of the Series award was bagged by Dhrub Singh Parmar.
Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy also won under-14 final defeating Siddhanth Cricket Academy by ten wickets in low scoring match.
Bating first, Siddhanth CA could not face the bowling attack of opponent and manage to make only 98 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Aryan Dogra and Monish Singal were the main scorers with 32 and 25 runs respectively.
For Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy, Jugjap Singh and Aryan Gandral shared three wickets each while Marutwan took one.
In reply, with the help of brilliant not out knocks by Harsh Dev Singh (51) and Sarthak Peshin (40) runs Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy chased the target without loss on wicket in just 8.3 overs.
Harsh Dev Singh was awarded Man of the Match as well as Best Batsman award while Best Bowler award went to Jugjap Singh and Best fielder to Aryan Dogra. Man of the Series award was won by Aryan Gandral.
Today’s matches were officiated by Akash Manhas and Aditya under the overall Supervision of Academy’s Chief Coach Sukomal Ganguly.
