SRINAGAR: The Coaching Centres’ Association (CCA) of Kashmir has welcomed the increased government scrutiny and steps to enhance the security of students at private coaching centres.
The association extended their complete cooperation with government over implementation of various initiatives to make the environment safe and healthy for students.
“The year has started with a good note as the government has taken several steps for the welfare of students,” said G.N Var Chairman CCA. “Be the constitution of women flying squad or the Divisional Commissioner’s personal intervention in safeguarding the coaching centres or several court orders in this regard, every step has been in right direction,” he added.
The association has expressed its satisfaction over the steps taken by Director School Education to register the genuine coaching centres.
The association lauded the district administration of Srinagar for taking extra pain in ensuring the implementation of various guidelines. “Our organisation has already agreed over the terms and conditions for the operation of coaching centres, so we have no problem in following the same,” said Var.
The association asked the government to identify the coaching centres that don’t follow rules and penalise them for violations.
The association asked the government not to limit the reforms of coaching centres upto urban areas but extend it to other districts too. “Prioritising the safety of coaching centres in Srinagar is a good idea but this should not be limited to Parraypora belt, rather the concern should be shown in respect to coaching centres spread over the valley,” said Var.
The association said that the constitution of all women flying squad would go a long way in instilling confidence and sense of security among girl students. “We had been demanding for such a squad for a long time and its creation has been met with delight both by our teachers and students,” said Var adding, “Now students would feel secure both in and outside the classes.”
The association also floated an idea of special workshop for girl students, where officials can aware the students about regulations, safety tips and channels of communication with police especially with the flying squad.
