CM’s Winter Tutorial Programme to start today

SRINAGAR: The state government on Monday accorded sanction for continuation of CM’s Winter Tutorial programme for the current session.
According to Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), the scheme would be rolled out on 27th December, 2016 in all designated centers and the timing shall be from 11:00 AM to 03:00 PM. In this regard, the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) have been directed to identify suitable/centrally located high and higher secondary schools to start the classes at the earliest. The order stated that, in the first instance, 780 tuition centers with adequate infrastructure in High and Higher Secondary Schools would be started for all subjects and streams at secondary and higher secondary level from Class VIII to XII. The students who have appeared in Class XII examination in the month of November-2016 would be covered for remedial teaching.
The order further stated that the coaching would comprise of remedial teaching for the previous Class for the first month and afterwards, the coaching would be imparted for the teaching of syllabi of new classes.
The CEOs have also been directed to ensure that the identified centers should be made functional immediately by arranging adequate teaching and non-teaching staff, logistics like proper heating and seating arrangements, TLM, ICT facility, LCD projectors, copier, help desk and watchmans.
According to the directives, CEOs shall identify best faculty for such centers giving preference to experience/merit and in view of last year report and one best English teacher should also be arranged for each center.
A divisional level monitoring team headed by the Joint Director (EE) DSEK should make regular visits to the faculty established in each district and access the performance of the faculty members.
The gazetted officer, most preferably concerned Principal of the Higher Secondary, shall be nominated as overall incharge for the cluster and his/her contact be notified and communicated to DSEK and Principal SIE Kashmir.
According to the order, the expenses incurred on the smooth management including heating/TLM etc shall be debited to the registration fee collected from candidates.
The CEOs have also been instructed to ensure that one time heating/logistics charges of Rs 300 per student for Class VIII and Rs 400 for Class IX and above shall be collected from selected candidates at the time of admission and accounts should be minted properly by the Incharge Center.
