STATE TIMES NEWS
VIJAYPUR: Former Minist-er and JKPCC Manjit Singh on Sunday sought clarification from the ruling BJP to clear their stand whether they have surrendered before separatists.
He was speaking in a function here at Vijaypur organised to pay homage to two farmers killed in police firing in 1991 Puran Singh and Romesh Lal during a protest demonstration against power crises.
“26 years back too, there was a power crisis then which has not ended yet. Even today, farmers have been facing same situation and nothing has changed for them. They are still striving for electricity supply,” he added.
The former minister said people of Jammu Division voted BJP to power for the first time. However, all their promises fell flat.
“They assured development, adequate power supply and proper share of Jammu region but nothing like this happened. They are in government for power not to fulfill desires of the people for which they were sent to power,” he stressed, while speaking before the people.
Manjit Singh, JKPCC General Secretary, said presently when the Kashmir is boiling it seems BJP has surrendered before the separatists and pro-Pakistan groups sidelining interest of Jammu and nation.
“They have compromised their basic ideology and sold it for their vested interests. The people of Jammu have been feeling cheated at the hands of saffron party which claimed to be champion and representative of this division,” he maintained.
He challenged BJP to clear their stand whether they are with nation or separatists because their coalition partner has sought time from the separatists which shows which line the saffron party has towed. Those who were present in function include Retd. Col. Swaran Singh , Sukdev Choudhary, Ex. Sarpanch Balwant Singh Nagra, Manjit Singh Billa, Gurjit Singh , Daleep Singh , Billu Choudhary, Man-mohan Singh Monni, Mittarpal Singh and Bharat Bushan.
