Civil Society Forum calls for restoring peace in Kashmir

JAMMU: All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF) on Thursday urged all the stakeholders of Kashmir to rise over petty politics and endeavour to restore peace in violence ridden Valley to bail out common people from the current state of morass and uncertainity.
The appeal was made during a meeting of AJCSF held at Dogra Sadar Sabha hall chaired by its Convener Th. Gulchain Singh Charak and Co-Convener Abdul Majid.
Charak expressed deep concern over the continued state of unrest and violence in the Kashmir Valley. He requested all political leaders of the burning Valley to rise above petty inter-party rivalries and put in efforts to douse the fire rather than making emotional statements that add fuel to fire. He further requested the veterans of the separatist movement to have mercy on the poor families whose lads are being pushed forward in futility as gun fodder.
The meeting resolved for permanent peaceful solution of present J&K crisis, building a strong, united and secular Jammu region, bringing social and trade organisations on single platform to strengthen their cause, ensuring compensation to businessmen, traders and transporters of Jammu region, etc.
The meeting was attended by Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal , Annil Suri, G. A Khawaja, Om Parkash Gupta, Amanat Ali Shah, Col. Virender Kumar Sahi, Brig. M. S. Jamwal, Surinder Mahajan, Parveen Gupta, Sandeep Gupta, Kuldip Wahi, Chander Gulati, Akhtar Hussain, Kulbir Singh, Raghbir Gupta, Surinder Singh, Prof. Ayub Khan, Col. Karan Singh Jamwal (Retd.), Dr. N. K. Dogra , Chhatter Singh, Prof. Shujat Khan, Madan Rangila, Janak Khajuria, Baldev Khullar , H.A Siddiqui, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak and Ravi Singh Slathia.
