JAMMU: Civil Defence Jammu on Friday inaugurated a five days Civil Defence Basic Training Course for disaster management training at Bal Bharti School of SOS Home at Narwal.
The Chief Guest, Veena Handa, Chairperson of Handa College of Education and Tiny Tots Group of Higher Secondary Schools inaugurated the course of training imparted to the children.
She interacted with students of different levels and explained to them the various aspects of disaster management with a lively interactive session with the students making them aware of their role in the event of any man made or natural calamities or disasters.
The inaugural session of the course was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, DySP Tejinder Kour.
Santosh Mangotra, the Divisional Warden of division four welcomed the various dignitaries and elaborated the need for training of people of the age group between 16 to 60 years to come forward and help the society in case of any disasters .
Also present on the occasion was Arora, the Principal of Bal Bharti School of SOS Home.
