Citizen’s Forum demands fiscal help for closed units

JAMMU: Citizen’s Forum has demanded fiscal help from Union Minister for Finance M S Sitaraman for closed /insipid running industrial and business units in J&K UT. It was stated by President Citizen’s Forum, R K Chadha in a press statement issued on Tuesday.
Chadha further said that it is not only COVID conditions but industries in J&K were before that as well because of depression in business, border tensions and terrorism. “Banquet Halls, Cinema Halls and many other businesses were almost closed for last one year and their rehabilitation plan, started by center with fiscal help through banks, is negligible as bankers in Jammu have been choosy in providing loans to units. Punjab National Bank is one such bank which never refused a loan but never give it as well. When a complaint notice was written to Finance Minister and Chairman of Bank, the Staff started insulting customer and refused to accept complaint copy. Even when the customer tried to send notice through SHO, the bank refused to accept. The DGM PNB Jammu was also contacted but he refused to listen,” he added. He urged Union Finance Minister to provide some fiscal help to such closed / insipid running units at the earliest.
