CISF takes over security of SSCTPP Suratgarh

NEW DELHI: CISF took over the security of Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Plant (SSCTPP), Suratgarh, Rajasthan with sanctioned strength of 191 personnel.
Prabodh Chandra, DIG, CISF, B. Kumar, Chief Engineer/SSCTPP and other officers and personnel of CISF & SSCTPP were present during the occasion.
This unit is headed by Deputy Commandant rank officer. With this induction, total units under CISF security cover has risen to 351 as on date.
Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Plant, Suratgarh is a Coal based Supercritical Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 1320 MW (2 X 660 MW) located at Suratgarh, Distt Sriganganagar (Rajasthan). The power plant is operated by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL).
In the light of the increased threat perception to the Coal based Supercritical Thermal Power Plants situated across the country, SSCTPP is inherently vulnerable to threats from anti-nationals & saboteurs.
