Chris Brown to perform at Indian Premiere League
Mumbai: American singer Chris Brown, best known for his hit tracks “Loyal” and “With You”, is all set to enthrall Indian fans for the first time at the opening of 9th edition of Indian Premiere League.
American dancehall reggae trio Major Lazer along with English rapper Fuse ODG and Jamaican-American recording artist Nailah Thorbourne will join Brown, 26, at NSCI Dome on April 8.
“We are very excited to perform in India for the very first time… Looking forward to a crazy night of mayhem and meeting all my beautiful people in India,” Brown said in a statement.
“At IPL we treat the whole city like one scene and we bring everyone out for music, food and just good energy all around. All of us in Major Lazer are excited to be back in India bringing carnival to the fans,” added electronic music group Major Lazer.
Adding Bollywood spice on the stage would be celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandes, Katrina Kaif and Yo Yo Honey Singh.
Ranveer said his performance will be a tribute to the spirit of cricket.
“My act will honour the spirit of cricket and victory. I want to dedicate this performance to all the cricket fans across the world,” he said.
The stadium will be converted into a cricket party bringing to the fore the spirit and sportsmanship of cricket by combing a 360 degree experience of state of the art technology and seamless entertainment, according to organisers Big up Ferriswheel Entertainment and Shubhra Bharadwaj.
Mumbai Indians will put the trophy back in play, signaling the start of the 2016 season of the competition.
The ceremony will be telecast live in 32 countries on Sony Max and Sony Six from 7:30pm onwards.
