JAMMU: Vigilance Organisation Jammu (VOJ) on Wednesday registered a case against Chief Education Officer Jammu, Tarsem Lal and others for abusing their official positions in connivance with the beneficiaries to Class IV posts in Education Department.
The case was registered under FIR No.30/2014 Section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) J and K PC Act 2006 and Sections 120-B, 466, 468 and 471 RPC.
The FIR has been lodged in pursuance to Joint Surprise Check conducted by Vigilance Organisation, to verify the allegations regarding bungling made in the selection process to the post of Class IV employees. It was revealed that out of 90 selected candidates, 15 candidates have not filled their application forms and have been appointed through backdoor. It has been further found that academic points of 13 selected candidates have been raised/increased and 6 candidates were either given less marks by interview committee or were shown absent and their marks/points were fraudulently raised which led to their selection. The CEO Jammu has also violated government orders with regard to the procedure required to be adopted in the selection for recruitment of Class IV Employees.
In this way, 33 undeserving candidates were illegally benefitted in the selection process which has rendered the selection of Class IV employees in Education Department illegal, arbitrary and unfair.
