CHC Bhadarwah, Gandoh face shortage of specialists: Taj

TAJ ASSEMBLY-28SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din on Thursday said that as in other parts of the State, there is shortage of designated specialists in CHC Bhadarwah and Gandoh.
Taj said that against 18 posts of Medical Officers (MOs), 12 are posted in CHC, Bhadarwah and out of seven posts of Medical Officers, four are in place in CHC, Gandoh, besides two Medical Officers each have been engaged under NRHM for both these CHCs and are working there.
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Mohammad Sharief Niaz in the Legislative Assembly, the minister said that the medical officers with post graduation qualification in Surgery, Medicine and Gynae are rendering specialist services in CHC, Gandoh. He said consultants in Anaesthesia, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics are working in CHC, Bhadarwah and services in other specialties are being rendered by the medical officers with PG qualification in Gynae, Medicine, Pathology and Dentistry.
