Chauhan reviews facilities at Blind School

JAMMU: Commissioner/ Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Sarita Chauhan accompanied by Director Social Welfare Jammu, Vir Jee Hangloo visited Blind School, Complex of Working Women Hostel located at Roopnagar Muthi on Thursday.
She also visited village Ghaink Kote-Bhalwal to see the 39 Kanals of land that has been recently transferred to Social Welfare Department for establishment of composite home (Old Age Home).
She took the review of the various facilities being provided to the blind children residing in blind home. She was informed that the blind home is running since 1976 and present intake capacity is 25 inmates which will be enhanced up to 50 inmates after completion of first floor of the said building, the children in the home are provided boarding and lodging free of cost.
While taking stock of building complex of working women hostel, she impressed upon the making the hostel functional taking into consideration all the security aspects for lodging working women in the hostel. She directed Director Social Welfare Jammu to submit the plan proposal for the above said schemes for further necessary action in the matter.
