NAGROTA: With the basic idea of reviving the old traditional route of Vaishno Devi, a Chari Yatra was flagged off by Rakesh Wazir President, Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra, at Kol Kandoli Nagrota, the first Darshan of old traditional route.
On the occasion, large number of people including ladies irrespective of caste, creed or religion participated. The Chari after passing through Jagdamba Mata Temple, Kheer Bhawani Temple, Maha Lakshmi Temple Pangali, Shiv Mandir Thanda Pani, Gondla Kali Mata Mandir, Ram Darbar Bamyal will halt today at Oli Mata Temple.
The Chari Yatra is organised by Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Pracheen Marg Committee under the supervision of its President Kuldeep Raj Luthra, Vice President Kartar Chand and Secretary Master Jagdish Raj.
Wazir asked administration for taking immediate steps for restoring the routes from Katra to Akhnoor and Kol Kandoli Nagrota via Bamyal.
Among others who were present on the occasion include Chander Mohan Sharma, Sarpanch Ram Singh, Uttam Singh, Lal Hussain Lodha, Subhash Chander, Vijay Sharma and Suraj Singh.
