Jammu: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu R.S Jain framed charges against Surrinder Kampani, Radha Devi, Tajeswar, Rajinder Kumar, Rakesh Kumar and Pooja Devi in the much publicised illegal abortion case at Akhnoor.
According to the case, on 3rd April, 2010, an information was received by Police Station Akhnoor that accused Surrinder Kampani who had retired as CHO had installed an ultra sound machine and was conducting unauthorized sex determination tests at Room No. 6 at Raja Bazaar, Akhnoor.
On receipt of this report FIR No. 80/2010 for offence under Section 420/419/312/109 RPC/Sec.4 J and K Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act/ Section 23 of Pre-conception and Prenatal Sex Selection/ Determination (Prohibition and Regulation) Act was registered in police station, Akhnoor.
Principal Sessions Judge Jammu R.S Jain after going through the case observed that. Looking to the allegations and the investigation carried out by the police, prima facie case under Section 34/ 419/ 420 /312/315 RPC/ Sec.4 J and K Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act is made out against the accused persons and framed charges.
