“Let us think of boycotting these political leaders in power and those out of power, we should avoid their invitations in all social, cultural and religious functions being a useless slot for the occasions.
“We should not allow them to inaugurate or lay any foundation stones and to affix their name plates, as any sort of work being executed through public exchequer is the right of the voters. Whatever money these elected representatives allot or spend is not from their inherited purse but from the tax payer’s coffer.
“The people should make these wicked politicians to realize their true faces, by exposing them in large scale and in every nook and corner; they deserve public condemnation in all fields. But our bad luck is that we become self centered selfish people and we carry this ugly stuff on our shoulders.
“The well qualified, educated and those deprived of their legitimate share in jobs by discriminating on biased selection process should hold large scale demonstrations in public and in front of the residences of these representatives all over the region, who have kept their mouth shut on the issue and indirectly pushing the youth to dark days and have become slaves to the Kashmir leadership.
“Time and again it surfaces in media that some vested interested business men hailing from Jammu are acting as conduits for top most ministers in managing transfers and other matters, required to be exposed and stripping for their anti social and corrupt practices detrimental to the smooth system.
“The role of fourth pillar of democracy i.e. media is foremost to awaken these Jammu leaders to realize their responsibilities towards discriminatory attitude.
“Both print as well as electronic media must not carry the undue publicity of this fraternity and should not carry forward the hollow concern, time and again shown by these hawks.
“Let us boycott all political motivated functions, till all of them speak jointly for Jammu cause, leaving their political aspirations as the second agenda.
“Let us create a situation of isolation for them by not visiting these gunny bags for our small causes and to obtain their favors as the system has improved a lot and we can get our problems solved by visiting the concerned offices directly to the senior officers. We have many powerful tools with us such as ‘Right to Information’, ‘Service guarantee act’ and so many other legislations.
“Lastly but not the least let the culture of ‘Chamchagiri’ of these leaders be shelved and live gracefully with dignity and honor as such ‘Chamchas’ are badly rejected by the society, the very moment the person in whose ‘Chamchagiri’ they are, no more remain in power.
It is an admitted fact that the political party forming the government profess to provide, the medium to channelize political aspirations more than to think in a right perspective for over all development of the human population of the State and to do away the discriminations. As it is the large human population which votes the party to the power seats, thus it lacks accountability to a large extent. We should admit the facts that the government or political pundits are not the true well wishers of the public and they exploit the ignorance of the common mass for their ‘Vote Bank Politics’.
Here and under these circumstances, the civil societies’ role becomes more important and relevant. The first and most role of civil society are to limit and control the power of the States. Society actors could watch how state officials use their power. They should raise public concern about any abuse of power; expose corrupt conduct of public officials. Civil society must involve itself as a construction partner and advocate for democracy, discrimination and human rights. The civil societies has to play a very important role in keeping the political associations in check and balance form so that they could not encroach upon the civil rights of the common man. But at the same time the important one for such a civil society is that it should be apolitical in character.
