Chander Prakash for immediate steps to augment water, power supplies Seeks daily report from the concerned officers

SAMBA: Taking a serious note of water and power crisis in some areas of Samba District, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga directed the officers of PHE and Electrical Wing to submit daily reports regarding the steps taken to improve water and power supply. They were directed to maintain a schedule of water and power supply and the damage report of transformers and water pumps of the area.
While chairing a meeting of officers of PHE and Power Development Department at Samba on Monday to review the status of power and water supply in the district, minister stressed on proper maintenance of the machinery and supply lines and directed for immediate steps to ensure repair of damaged machinery so that people do not face such problems.
He asked for pressing in service tankers for water supply especially in the areas where there is no other source of water especially in Vijaypur and other border areas.
Chander Prakash gave strict directions to XEns, AEEs and JEEs of both the departments to conduct inspections and field visit to take first hand appraisal of the problems of the people and take immediate remedial measures.
Minister also directed both the departments to prepare a contingency plan to overcome such problems of water and power supply as these problems are likely to increase in coming months. Earlier the concerned officers apprised the minister about the current
scenario of water and power supply in each area of district Samba. He was informed that provision of water tankers has been kept for the water scarce areas. Concerned officers also informed that the proposal of augmentation of transformers for areas like Ramgarh and Vijaypur has already been
prepared and every possible effort is being made to overcome the crisis.
MLA Samba Dr. Manyal asked the officers to prepare a plan for overcoming the shortage of water and power supply in the area.
He also asked them to be sensitive to the problems of the people and put in their best efforts to redress them.
ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma, CPO, ASP, XEN PHE (mechanical and civil wing), XEN PDD, XEN Sub Transmission Division (STD), AEE’s and JEE’s of PHE and PDD were present on the occasion.
