Chamber urges Govt to roll back unjustified taxes

UDHAMPUR: District President of Associate of Industries Chamber and Commerce (AOICC) Ravi Malguria took serious note of decision taken by State Govt. led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to impose additional service, toll tax and entertainment tax saying that common people have been disappointed by this. He strongly flayed Mufti Govt. for this unjustified act and keeping in view problem already being faced by Jammu region traders, chamber urged Govt. to roll back all taxes been imposed.
Malguria lambasted Mehbooba for imposing unnecessary hike in Service Tax (ST) up to 14.5 per cent, besides increasing toll tax and tax on entertainment. He said that by imposing unjustified tax Mufti has hurt the sentiments of the Jammu region.
Gen. Secy. Vinod Gupta coming heavily on State Govt. decision, said it is anti people decision and Govt. once again has discriminated with Jammu region people who are already reeling under immense mental pressure due declining business and Govt. instead of giving some relief to the business community bent upon harassing them for one or the other reason. Gupta urged Mehbooba to revoke the decision keeping in view the problems of the business community.
