JAMMU: Special Crime Wing (SCW) of the Crime Branch Jammu on Friday produced Challan in two fraud cases of similar nature against accused Deepak Kumar.
“Crime Branch (SCW) Jammu had received various complaints of similar nature against one Deepak Kumar, son of Parshotam Lal, resident of Nathal Chak, Kathua, who in lieu of providing jobs to the complainants in MES Department, had duped them of their hard-earned money to the tune of around Rs. 46 lakhs,” a Crime Branch official said.
Accordingly, the official added, PVs were got conducted and on the basis of findings, two FIRs were registered in Police Station SCW Crime Branch Jammu against the accused person.
“Case FIR No.1/2023 under Sections 419/420 IPC was entrusted to Inspector Ashok Bajaj who after completing the investigation, produced the Challan in the court of CJM Samba against the accused who had cheated the complainant and other victims of their hard-earned money to the tune of Rs. 42,20,000,” official said and added, “Another case FIR No 07/2024 under Sections 419, 420, 504, IPC of Police Station SCW Jammu was entrusted to Inspector Kali Charan who too completed the investigation and produced the Challan in the court of CJM Kathua on December 19, 2024.”
Pertinently, after taking the money, the accused had fled away, but Insp Ashok Bazaz put in sincere and hectic efforts and finally arrested the accused who was later released on bail by the orders court.
Both the cases have been investigated and challaned under supervision of SSP Crime Branch (SCW) Jammu Sanjay Parihar and guidance of Dr. Sunil Gupta IGP Crime J&K.
