JAMMU: The Crime Branch wing of the J&K Police on Monday booked a fraudster working as a clerk in the office of DIET Rajouri and two others for duping people in sending them abroad.
According to a complaint lodged by Shafiq Ahmed, son of Mohd. Nazir, resident of Kapakha, Rajouri before Inspector General of Police, CID, the accused Shabir Malik, Tariq Malik and Rashida Khan had taken Rs. 1.50 lakh along with his passport on the pretext that they will arrange a Visa for going abroad for employment purpose but in turn provided a Tourist Visa for Malaysia.
When Shafiq denied and demanded his money and the passport back, the accused plainly refused to do so and threatened him of dire circumstances.
On receipt of this complaint, a preliminary verification was initiated in Crime Branch, Jammu and during the course of verification it was found that the complainant approached the accused Shabir Malik, who was working as an Accounts Clerk in DIET, Rajouri, and who allured him on the pretext that he can manage a foreign visa through one lady Rashida Khan, wife of Raiz Khan, resident of Malaad East, Mumbai and in turn obtained Rs. 1.50 lakh from him.
Thereafter, Shabir Malik sent him along with his relative, accused Tariq Malik, son of Mohd Riyaz, resident of Darhal to Mumbai to meet accused Rashida Khan where some money was offered to her and after about one and half months a tourist visa for Malaysia was provided to the complainant which he denied.
It was also revealed that all the three accused persons under well knit conspiracy allured him on false pretexts and thereafter duped him of his hard earned money and misappropriated the same through fraudulent means.
The omissions and commissions, therefore, on the part of Shabir Malik (Clerk in Education Department presently posted at Kheora DIET), son of Ab. Rashid, Taqiq Malik , Rashida Khan, prima facie, constitute offences punishable u/s 420, 406,120-B RPC. Accordingly, a formal case has been registered in Crime Branch, Jammu.
