AKHNOOR: On the development agenda and his last six years performances exhorting Congress workers to seek popular mandate, Sham Lal Sharma, senior Congress leader and Minister, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control while addressing party workers from Akhnoor town, stated after his two days electioneering in remote and hilly areas, that each of us should work unitedly to mobilise the last voter of their polling stations for grand victory.
He said during his six years tenure as minister and 10 years as MLA, Akhnoor Constituency not only got executed major developmental schemes and projects but also ensured providing all basic civic amenities in Akhnoor town such as connectivity, health, education, drinking water supplies and other facilities. One degree college, four bridges, 11 higher secondary schools, nine tube wells in city with backup system got commissioned on war footing, which speaks volumes for the concern he has for Akhnoor who people elected him twice as their MLA with overwhelming leads.
Sham claimed his vision for Akhnoor which has been translated into ground realities witnessed by the people need popular mandate as none else approaching masses for vote would present such a development.
He asserted that being representative made of Akhnoor he was this town historical and hub of religious activities which is popularly called second Hardwar in India, adding that he was developed its rich historical heritage and given new face lift to attract tourists from other parts. Chenab River and its adjoining vicinity has been provided RCC sheds, besides improving Tourist Reception Centre, parks and gardens, walkers’ paths was got done by him, he maintained. Sharma recalled how World Spiritual Guru Dalai Lama has been impressed with Akhnoor town which he visited and returned with his sweet memories.
Castigating and lambasting BJP for their dubious political gimmicks Sharma urged upon the State people that only Congress led by Sonia Gandhi can safeguard the three regions’ integration as BJP has only nefarious designs to sabotage Jammu region’s justified cause, and alleged that the BJP is having secret mutual understanding with separatists to grab power and is bent upon to destabilise constitutional dimensions for achieving their dubious agenda.
Sham said, people of Akhnoor should feel proud on his performance as legislator and minister vote him to lead and continue his struggle for dignified Jammu.
He exhorted party men to exert and launch mass contact electioneering campaign to vote and support his landslide victory.
