CAPD becomes first ever fully digitalised government department in State: Zulfkar

UDHAMPUR: CAPD Department has become the first ever fully digitalised department in the State said the Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Legal Metrology, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali in an interactive -cum- awareness programme which was held today at Government Higher Secondary School, Tikri.
While addressing a large gathering, the minister said that such an interactive- cum- awareness camp is very important in generating awareness among the masses about the newly launched schemes of CAPD Department .
Highlighting the various features of National Food Security Act , he said that the implementation of NFSA shall result into supply of highly subsidised ration to the citizens of the State at their door step in a transparent manner.
The minister also briefed the people about the newly launched Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme .He said that the scheme supplements NFSA and under this scheme additional quota of ration would be provided to the consumers at subsidised rates.
About Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojna (PMUY), the minister said that under this scheme LPG connections would be provided to women of all household below poverty line. He directed the Deputy Commissioners of district Udhampur and Reasi to identify 1,000 beneficiaries under this scheme within a month. The minister further directed the district commissioners of both the districts to revise the carriage rates . The minister informed that 204 new fair price shops are proposed in district Udhampur while 101 new shops are proposed in Reasi District. Stressing on bringing transparency,the minister assured the people that the government will take strict action against the erring dealers/officials. He said that quality ration would be provided to the people and informed that ration will be provided on quarterly basis for the convenience of common people .
GPS tracking of the vehicles carrying ration would be done to curb pilferage and any other malpractice, he added The minister assured that the government is fully committed for the protection and promotion of economic and social well being of the citizens and distributed ration cards among the beneficiaries.
MLA Udhampur Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat, MLA Ramnagar R.S.Pathania, DC Udhampur Niraj Kumar , Director CAPD G.S Chib, SSP Udhampur Suleman Chowdhary , district officers of Udhampur and Reasi Districts besides Sarpanchs and prominent citizens were present in the programme.
