Cap the gap

Bridging the caste discrimination and bringing in equality in the society alongwith affordable education and healthcare are some of the lofty targets set by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at its three-day Nagpur summit which began on Thursday. The sudden realisation of narrow downing of the caste gap it looks comes as an afterthought of Jat agitation in Haryana and Patidar agitation in Gujarat. Recognising the gravity of caste unrest among the marginalised, the RSS has put social harmony as one of the core issues for discussion. It suddenly appears to have social harmony in the country as very important with a narrow outlook. The method of eradication of evil in the society looks as if the organisation which calls shot for BJP once again wants to create a social stir by evoking and revoking the social discrimination given by the Constitution and to undo the mistake done. It is quite a high platform the organisation is dreaming to convert the secular structure of the country, which has its own methods of resilience. It looks there is no need to have social watchmen to rectify such maladies. Though the organisation claims its outlook as a universal and wide one, there are some defects that have come up in the society. It must try to eradicate caste discrimination and arrange Sadbavna rallies among all communities to spread positivity in the country and not fear among some sections of the society. Talking about affordable medical care and education this is something anybody would welcome at any stage. With medical expenses going everyday high majority of people find difficulty in getting affordable and effective health care system in the country. Rapping the government it said the responsibility of an efficient and strong government to instill confidence in the people about their security lie with it. The meet of BJPs ideological mentor assumes importance in the backdrop of Narendra Modi government facing flak over handling of JNU row, Dalit students suicide in Hyderabad, allegations of saffronisation of education and the debate over intolerance ahead of crucial Assembly elections.
