ANANTNAG: A team of oncologists led by renowned oncologist and Head of the Oncology Department, SKIMS, Dr. Altaf on Monday operated upon five patients here at District Hospital, Anantnag.
The patients were suffering from different malign cancers like thyroid, breast, rectum, etc.
This is first such instance when the patients suffering from different types of cancers have been operated upon in the district hospital. This was the collaborative effort between Oncology Department, SKIMS and Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir.
The efforts of the Health Department were lauded by the people, in general, and patients suffering from chronic diseases, in particular, and expected that such surgeries should be done in future as well. It was assured to them that such chain of visits would follow in future as well.
The other doctors in the team included Dr. Sheikh Zahoor, Dr. Azhar Jan, Dr. Abdul Waheed, Dr. Mudasir, Dr. Abdul Bari and Dr. Imtiyaz.
