Can India handle terrorism without preparations?
Ashok Raina
Everyone had heard the group discussion on Terrorism in India and wants to eradicate this dark side of our society and nation but there is lack of sincerity among us to handle the situations created by our neighboring state .Good inputs can yields better results like the concentration of mars mission India reached the destination successfully. Without policy, planning and objectives goal the programmes of group discussion is absolutely meaningless. I feel that rather than supplementary of power, supremacy could do the situations. To increase safety instrument in India terrorism is not a topic meant for group discussion only but needs to handle by means of initiating anti -terrorism drills. Indian nationalists should not keep an eye on army, CRPF and BSF for those drills but they should voluntary come out to join anti -terror exercises under objective plans and programmes.
The question most heard was – how well prepared is India against the next terror attack? —How would it handle another spectacular terrorist attack? The Fidayeen militants stormed an army camp in Uri near the Line of Control (LoC) was an attack by four heavily armed terrorists on 18th September 2016 as such 18 jawans were killed in pre dawn strike at Uri. Besides remembering all that another confusion prevailed over the attack at Army -BSF Camp in Baramulla on 3rd October which was described by senior para-military officials today as a ‘shoot and scoot’ strike by militants in which one BSF personnel Nitin was killed and Pulwinder were injured in the said militant firing attack. Intelligence reports from Pakistan indicated that 16-17 terror camps were shifted from their current locations after the Uri attack. According to highly placed sources in the intelligence agencies, training camps of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and the Hizbul Mujahideen were relocated in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.Four terror camps operating from Mansehra and Muzaffarabad were shifted by the Pakistani Army and intelligence.
Following suspicion raised by international media over India’s claim of carrying out “surgical strikes” against ‘militants’ in the Pakistani side of Kashmir, politicians across the border have now started questioning the authenticity of the incident. The development comes two days after Pakistan Army took local and foreign journalists on a rare visit to forward locations along the Line of Control (Loc). The journalists represented international media outlets, including CNN, BBC, VOA, Reuters, AP, AFP, News Week andBBC Urdu Service. The purpose of the embedded tour was to allow journalists to independently investigate the Indian claim. According to report from Pakistan the journalists were taken to mainly two spots of Boxer Formation and Hot Spring Formation out of the 190-kilometre stretch of the LoC, where India claimed it forces had carried out the ‘strikes’. At both locations, which are about 50 kilometers apart, no signs of destruction or casualties were found except the two Pakistan Army soldiers, who had been killed – one each at the two formations – due to unprovoked firing by Indian forces. While most heard from India after last week’s cross-Loc raid dubbed ‘surgical strikes’ by the Indian Army’s Ghatak commandos on the night of 28th September. The raid targeted terrorist launch pads across the LoC in northern Kashmir in Keel, Shard, Chamber and Lipan sectors in the Pakistan occupied Kashmir – launch pads that have, over the years, figured prominently in the intercepts of the intelligence agencies as ones facilitating infiltration.
There is no clarity on how the raid exactly happened – despite a series of ‘briefings’ from the army to those journalists who are close to the government; but it is clear that the raid has caused extensive damage to the terrorist launch pads, killed more than 40 terrorists and at least two soldiers of the Pakistan Army. This is the beginning of new positive actions against terrorism from India but all this after it is not clear for the people on both sides of nations what in actual fact has to happen due to Pak propaganda strategy. Will this be the standard response of India to the future terrorist attacks coming from Pakistan?
Like Uri and the previous attacks in Udhampur, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and the rest. But if the ISI manages to repeat what it had done in Mumbai in 2008 or revives its campaign of causing serial blasts in major Indian cities, then this sort of response of surgical strikes may look harder to execute, particularly if the attack has its roots exclusively in Pakistani Punjab, and not PoK. Then the Indian Government and the Indian Army will have to think of new ways to militarily respond to Pakistan.
China’s nuclear deal with Pakistan by and large implies things: first, the Chinese plan of empowering Pakistan secondly Russia has rubbished reports that its troops will be holding joint military exercises with Pakistani forces in Gilgit. In all these circumstances it can’t be ruled out that Pak misguided India for finding a new occasion for another attack on army camps by means of proxy war.
After control over intruder incidents from LoC the snatching rifles incidents in Kashmir has given new birth of escalation of terrorism which is a matter of grave concern for we people .The government machinery should not take this matter in a little way otherwise it can produce a big confusion and major conflicts in coming days in Kashmir already known for target as battle field against terrorism. I really feel a great tough time for India to handle or deal with trouble of terrorism at present moment.
And now be remembered that without policy, planning and objective programme group discussions are absolutely meaningless and loss of precious time of everyone. Perhaps you also know this fact that India is not able to handle terrorism devoid of all types of preparations at this crucial stage.
