Can India?

Trailing the four-match series 0-2 India might be going through tough time following the successive defeats in Australian leg of test match tour. More than some surprises, India needs the right attitude. The venue, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), incidentally hasn’t seen a draw since 1997. Indians have a good chance of bouncing back given the wicket conditions. Adelaide and Melbourne are the best chances for the Indians to win. India lost the Adelaide opening match by 48 runs and came back strongly in Gabba to post 408 runs in the first innings only to lose it from there. Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s aggressive approach in the Brisbane Test was a definite change from his much-criticised defensive brand of leadership in the longer format and it impressed spectators and critic in the same way; adding to this aggressiveness was some good fielding placement, which normally is seen in the limited over edition of the game.  In any case the slow drag game is not suitable under Austarlian conditions. One has to be proactive and a fast paced game wll really change the whole scenario which could help Indians register a win in Down Under. If Australia go out and play the brand of cricket that they are famous of playing then the match can be completed in four days. For Indians the change in strategy and aggressiveness in the game with a killer instinct is needed to come out of the slumber than baulk under the pressure of defeat. Another quick loss and the already simmering internal difference will come into the open so India needs win to silence critics and check players. The moot question is can India deliver the goods under these circumstances? Wait for the game which has started in Melbourne to end.
