BHADARWAH: To motivate the rural youth especially those from fairer sex that instead of falling prey to the increasing drug menace in the society, they should join Prime Minister’s Skill India Programme, All India Council for Professional Excellence (AICPE) in collaboration with Ess and Ess Institute of Technology(SSIT) and SAIFI organised a motivational programme at Additional District Bhadarwah on Tuesday.
The motivational campaign in which dozens of unemployed youth from Bhadarwah town and it’s peripheral areas participated was aimed at to inspire them to join the Prime Minister’s Skill India Programme and to become economically self reliant and also spread the message against increasing drug abuse in society particularly among youth.
The campaign was organised by SSIT Bhadarwah, which imparts technical skills in different trades among the youth under PMKVY and AICPE programmes of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, in collaboration with SAIFI-a healing touch research Bureau for Social Welfare in India.
While delivering his lecture to motivate youth to say ‘No to Drugs’ and to inspire them to instead join Prime Minister’s Skill India Programme, Dr Mudassir Nazar, a research scholar University of Kashmir, said, “Economic stability is must to weed out the drug menace from our society, as per data 94 per cent youth have neither access to government job nor in private sector, and the unemployed youth become more vulnerable to fall prey to the drug abuse in frustration.”
“Schemes like PMKVY and AICPE can do wonders for youth to make them self reliant by giving them technical skills and institutes like SSIT are doing commendable job to provide the youth access to these programmes in far-off areas,”Dr Mudassir added.
“We have been mobilising, inspiring and motivating youth that they should grab the opportunity of free access to develop their skills at our institute under different schemes of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship like AICPE and PMKVY to earn their livelihood, “said Co-ordinator SSIT, Majid Baba adding that economic instability is said to be the root cause of youth taking to drugs and we are trying to redress this issue by organising seminars and motivational lectures in collaboration with SAIFI NGO.
“Due to economic instability and lack of opportunities in rural areas, not only boys but girls are also becoming more vulnerable to take refuge in drugs, which is turning more dangerous for the society and there is dire need to redress this issue by motivating and inspiring them to develop their inner skills, “said Pakeeza, a girl student of SSIT Bhadarwah.
Those who spoke on the occasion include Majid Baba, Dr Mudassir Nazar, Khadim Murtaza, Afsha Shamim, Shafia Bano and Shahid Thouker.
