Cabinet approves 4 ministerial panels

JAMMU: The State Cabinet on Monday approved constitution of four Groups of Ministers (GoMs) to fast-track economic development and governance reforms through policy interventions in Jammu and Kashmir.
The first Group of Ministers (GoM) has been tasked to draw up the framework for effective implementation of the sectoral initiatives outlined in PDP-BJP ‘Agenda of Alliance’.
The GoM on implementation of ‘Agenda of Alliance’ to be headed by Deputy Chief Minister, shall have Minister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs, Minister for Industries & Commerce, Minister for Forest, Ecology & Environment and Minister for Finance, Culture and Labour & Employment as its members.
The Cabinet approved constitution of another Group of Ministers (GoM) to promote coordinated policy making across departments and ensure greater participation in decision making.
The GoM to be headed by Minister for Power shall have Minister for Housing & Urban Development, Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Minister for Public Health Engineering and I&FC and Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) as its members.
The Cabinet approved constitution of another Group of Minister (GoM) on Economic Affairs to be headed by Minister for Finance, Culture, Labour and Employment. The GoM on Economic Affairs shall have Minister for Tourism, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Minister for Agriculture Production and Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law and Justice as its members.
The Cabinet also approved GoM on Human Resource and Skill Development to be headed by Minister for Health and Medical Education. The GoM shall have Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings, Minister for Finance, Culture and Labour & Employment, Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution, Minister for Education and Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports as its members.
The cabinet observed that the GoMs shall objectively analyze and examine the proposals that are brought before them, from time to time, by the General Administration Department (GAD) and advise the Cabinet accordingly.
