Bukhari seeks policy to revamp transport industry in J&K

JAMMU: Apni Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has demanded a policy to revamp transport industry in Jammu and Kashmir. As per a press release, dozens of transporters joined the Apni Party in presence of its President, Altaf Bukhari.
The programme was organized Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Pavneet Kour here in Jammu in presence of other senior leaders of the party.
Those who joined Apni Party include President J&K Motor Transport Welfare Association, Mohinder Singh, prominent National Conference leader, Triath Singh along with dozens of supporters joined Apni Party including Davinder Singh, Sandeep Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Manoj Kumar, Roshan Kumar, Yash Choudhary and Satyam Singh.
Welcoming the entrants into the party fold, Bukhari hoped that their joining would strengthen the party and resolve the issues of the transporters.
Referring to their concerns, he assured that their demands will be highlighted before the concerned authorities for early redressal while expressing concern over the pending unresolved issues of the transporters in J&K.
He demanded, “The Govt should introduce a policy to revamp the transport industry which is facing a difficult time and it has compelled many to adopt alternative businesses.”
“Multiple taxes and other financial burdens like loans have overburdened the transporters. The Govt should frame a policy which should be transport friendly so that the transporters are not over burdened,” he said. He assured that the Apni Party will stand with the transporters to address their issues. He further stated that “The Apni Party stands with transporters to highlight and resolve their issues.”
Prominent among those who were present include Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir, J&K Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, Provincial President, Youth Wing, Jammu, Vipul Bali and others.
