BSP & Cong fighting UP assly elections for survival: BJP
New Delhi:-Amid talks of a SP-Congress alliance for the UP assembly elections, BJP today claimed that there is a “Tsunami” in its favour there and that rival parties, including BSP and Congress, are fighting for survival.
BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said in a statement alleged that SP, BSP and Congress have become “synonymous with crime and corruption”, and claimed that voters in UP are looking at the saffron party with hope due to its developmental agenda.
“SP, BSP and Congress are a dangerous mix of corruption and crime. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati and Rahul Gandhi have worked together to loot the state for the last 15 years. Both SP and BSP had supported the UPA government and were a partner in scams running into over Rs 12 lakh crore,” he alleged.
The statements of Mayawati and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav besides Akhilesh targeting BJP are an indication that they have sensed defeat and resorting to “desperate measures”.
On the one hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working to remove black money and corruption, these leaders have joined hands against him to save those with black money, he claimed.
“The Modi government’s honest and decisive performance besides public welfare decisions have raised hopes of people in UP. It believes in taking everybody along. BJP believes in politics of performance and that is why is getting people’s mandate at so many places,” he said.
“There is not a wave but Tsunami of change in UP in BJP’s support. Mayawati, Akhilesh and Rahul are fighting for survival,” he said.
