BSF Jawan Opens Fire Outside Omar Abdullah’s Residence in Srinagar
Srinagar: A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper posted for security outside Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s residence in Srinagar opened fire suddenly this morning, but has injured no one.
Personnel of the special security group (SSG), which provides security to Abdullah, immediately overpowered the trooper and he was handed over to police.
Omar tweeted, “Not withstanding today’s incident with the BSF trooper stationed at my residence in Srinagar today I have full confidence in my security team.”
The police said they had questioned the trooper, who, they said, seemed to be “mentally disturbed.” He has been detained by the police.
