BSF jawan among 2 killed as vehicle falls into gorge

BANIHAL: Two persons, including a BSF jawan, were killed on Monday and three other jawans were injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling fell into a gorge in Ramban District, police said.
According to police sources, driver of a Tavera bearing registration number JK05C-6852 on its way from Srinagar to Jammu, lost control over it on reaching Kuthtal Tethar area (6 Km ahead of Banihal ), while negotiating a curve and plunged into a 100ft deep gorge, resulting into on the spot death of two persons and injuries to three others.
Locals and police immediately rushed to the spot, rescued all of them from the vehicle and shifted them to Emergency Hospital Banihal where doctors declared two as brought dead.
The injured security persons are under treatment at Emergency Hospital Banihal, where their condition is said to be out of danger.
The deceased driver has been identified as Ghulam Nabi son of Abdul Khaliq Malyar resident of Watergam, Baramulla.
The deceased BSF man has been identified as Ct. Babi Rai (No. 130850667 ) of 11 Bn BSF Resident of Kolkata.
The injured BSF men of 11 Bn have been identified as HC Samar Kumar (No.93007803) son of Malan Kumar Resident of House No 51 Part Colony Kunda,Chattisgarh, Ct. Lal Babu Kumar son of Shiv Shankar Yadav Resident of Patna and Ct. Dev Raj Vishwas son of Parbhat Vishwas Resident of Kolkata. Police has registered a case in this regard.
