1st 5s Hockey Tournament

JAMMU: The inaugural ceremony of the 1st 5s Hockey Tournament, hosted by MBS Hockey Club Simbal under the auspices of Hockey J&K, commenced with great fervour, here.
The opening match between Hiranagar Hockey Club and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Hockey Club Poonch was a nail-biter, with BSB Poonch emerging victorious with a 3-1 win.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including Rajinder Singh (Raju) as the Chief Guest, Parvinder Singh, Editor-in-Chief of Black & White Digital Media, and SDPO RS Pura.
Esteemed members of Hockey J&K, such as Rajinder Singh (Former President Hockey India), G.S Bakshi, Rajinder Koul, Daljeet Singh, Ishan Sharma, Tejinder Singh, and Supinder Deep Singh Bakshi were also present.
Notable attendees from MBS Hockey Club included Rajinder Singh Nethu, Gurmeet Singh Meeta, Harmeet Singh, Jasprit Singh Jimmy, Ajmeet Singh, and members of Sikh Naujawan Sabha, along with a large gathering of supporters.
Before the matches commenced, spectators were treated to exhilarating Gatka demonstrations by Baba Jujar Singh Gatka Akhada, Makhanpur Simbal, adding to the excitement of the event.
On the second day of the tournament, MBS Hockey Club faced off against Lachipur Kathua, securing a commanding 8-2 victory.
The chief guest for this match was Bupinder Singh (SHO Miran Sahib). In another match, Khalsa Warriors Gole Gujral clashed with MRS Club, with Khalsa Warriors emerging triumphant with a 7-0 win. The chief guest for this match was Balwant Singh (Present Border Commander), with Rajinder Singh (Former President Hockey India) among the notable attendees.
The technical panel, led by Iqbal Singh and comprising Daljeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Karanveer Singh, Sukhpreet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gursimran Singh, and Samiksha Kumari, ensured the seamless execution of the tournament, contributing to its success.
