JAMMU: Citing large scale bungling in State’s education sector for the last many years especially in executing transfers, dismal situation of Government schools, running of private schools without permission and recognition, etc, Jammu Private Schools and ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) on Monday sought immediate rectification of flaws that have been marring the functioning of State’s Education Sector.
Expressing hope in the working of Education Minister Naeem Akhtar, the association said that this is the right time to bring the education sector back on tracks. The association demanded a public debate for an effective and meaningful implementation of Right to Education Policy in the state.
Expressing deep concern on the issue of private schools running without permission and recognition in Rajouri, Kathua and Jammu districts, the association alleged that cumbersome procedure for getting permissions and recognition is behind such instances leading to compromise on imparting quality education.
The association further alleged that the procedure of getting approval of JK Board’s affiliation after a joint inspection of JK School Board and deputed government functionaries, one has to face the cruelty of corrupt administrative system of Civil Secretariat for recognition.
The association questioned that why SRO-123 has not been enforced in Government schools.
“The much required teacher training courses like B.Ed. and ETT were deliberately dislodged by the vested interests within the state government while least caring about the credible lot of stakeholders who had raised huge infrastructure against heavy bank loans”, the association alleged.
The association urged Education Minister to set things right by involving all the stakeholders to rejuvenate the education sector in both government and private sectors.
