Breaking Boxes, Building Bridges : creativity takes centre stage at JKPS Kunjwani
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Quoting George Bernard Shaw, “Some men see things as they are and say, ‘Why?’ I dream things that never were and say, ‘Why not?'”, Shivanya of Grade VII Maple conducted the morning assembly on the theme “Thinking Out of the Box” along with her classmates at JK Public School, Kunjwani.

Adding depth to the theme, Divtesh remarked, “The concept of thinking outside the box refers to approaching problems and decisions in a creative and unconventional way – by challenging assumptions and seeking new perspectives rather than relying solely on traditional methods. It is about finding imaginative solutions and redefining possibilities.”
The assembly resonated with the spirit of innovation as students reflected on how every great invention – from the light bulb to the internet – was born from a mind unafraid to defy convention. As Thomas Edison rightly said, “There’s a way to do it better – find it.” The message was clear: progress belongs to those who dare to think differently, to question the ordinary, and to imagine the impossible.
A poetic spark was added by Aaliya, who recited:
When everyone follows
the same old way,
I stop to wonder
and think, “Why stay?”
The world is wide,
the sky is high,
New dreams are born,
when we dare to try!
Rules are fine,
but not the end,
Ideas can twist,
They can bend.
A spark of thought,
a shining clue,
Can change the old
and make it new.
Further enhancing the spirit of creativity, Aishani enthralled the audience with another inspiring poem:
Think bold, think bright,
Don’t fear to fail.
Let curiosity set your sail.
Edison was once a child
Who thought outside the box;
Transformed the world
And changed darkness to light!
Under the Quotations Segment, the presenters drew upon the wisdom of great thinkers and leaders:
Mridul reflected upon Albert Einstein’s timeless thought: “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination encircles the world.”
Mankirat highlighted Matsheena Dhilwayo’s profound insight: “Thinking outside of the box allows you to get rewards outside of your reach.”
Ridhaan resonated with the spiritual depth of Deepak Chopra, quoting: “Instead of thinking outside the box, get rid of the box.”
Krishiv invoked the visionary words of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam: “Dream, Dream, Dream. Dreams transform into thoughts, and thoughts result in action.”
Navroop echoed the pragmatic wisdom of Jim Ferries, asserting: “It is not enough to think outside the box. Thinking is passive. Get used to acting outside the box.”
Sparsh concluded the segment with Bob Lutz’s insightful observation: “Being able to think out of the box presupposes you were able to think in it.”
Applauding the presenters for their creative deliberations, Principal, JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore remarked, “Innovation blossoms where courage meets curiosity. The ability to challenge conventions, to imagine fearlessly, and to turn ideas into impact defines the leaders of tomorrow”.
“At JKPS Kunjwani, we celebrate such young visionaries who break boxes and build bridges to conquer new horizons. Let’s continue to inspire our students to dream differently, dare greatly, and redefine the future with imagination and integrity”, he summed up.
