Brahman Sabha demands holiday on Basant Panchmi

JAMMU: A deputation of Brahman Sabha Jammu and Kashmir led by its President, Shakti Dutt Sharma met Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu in connection with forthcoming Basant Panchmi Mela to be held on 24th January in village Mathwar at Bawa Ballo Devasthan here.
Sabha President apprised Divisional Commissioner that the Basant Panchmi Mela is falling on 24th January, which is a working day. He said that on this day, hundreds of people mark their presence in the Mandir and seek blessings of Bawa Ballo but due to working day, many people who want to visit the Holy Shrine will not be able to pay obeisance. The deputation appealed to the Divisional Commissioner for declaring holiday on Basant Panchmi in Jammu District to enable people to mark their presence in the Shrine.
The deputation comprised of Dr. Chander Mauli Raina, Chairman, Mahant Rohit Shastri, Master Ram Paul, Suresh Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, Sukhdev Sharma and Deepak Sharma.
